There’s “Autoship” and Then There’s “Autoship”
Friday, September 11th, 2009Many networking (or MLM) opportunities allow you to sign up for free or for a very low initial investment (say, $10), but you can’t earn any money until you are on “autoship”.
What in the world is “autoship”?
Autoship means you have a standing order with the company. Most MLMs require an autoship of a certain amount before you qualify for commissions on product sold, or even, perhaps, for introducing new people to the company.
Yes, it is easy to sign up with a company for ten bucks, but what if you can’t afford a monthly outlay of more than $100 (plus the cost shipping, often) to have a monthly supply of product shipped to you?
One of the most-often cited reasons for “failing” at MLM is the high cost of autoship and the inability to move the purchased product.
You buy it. You pay to have it shipped. It arrives (or you have to go get it!) You must store it. You often must find a place to display it for sale. And if you don’t sell it, it gathers dust in your garage. Maybe the company will buy it back if you decide to quit. Maybe you can sell it on eBay (usually against company terms), or at a yard sale. Maybe you can use your leftover product for gifts for the next seven years.
What if you didn’t have to have any product sent to you?
What if you didn’t need to store anything?
What if you paid a little more initially and never had to worry again about a large monthly autoship?

Distributors will never know exactly who has downloaded their software (unless the distributor has spoken or contacted the individuals personally and, perhaps, walked them through the downloading process). Nothing in the distributor’s online office tells him who has his Genies!
So, what does “autoship” mean with the My Shopping Genie program?
To become a licensed distributor of My Shopping Genie, one must pay a one-time fee of $199. This is not an annual fee; it is a one-time ever in your life fee. This fee gives the distributor access to the online office and all the marketing materials available to My Shopping Genie distributors. It allows the distributor to add his logo and website link to his Genies so that he can advertise whatever other business opportunity, non-profit organization, brick-and-mortar store, or website that he wishes. It allows him to build a page on the Internet for his offline business, or to create coupons if he wants to give his Genie users a special discount. It allows him to enter his affiliate IDs from Amazon.com, Commission Junction, or ClickBank so that he can earn commissions on sales that result through the use of the Genies he gives away. And much more.
But in order to earn commissions from sales or clicks through his distributed Genies, or bonuses for introducing new people to My Shopping Genie, he must pay a monthly licensing fee of $29.
The one-time fee of $199 might be a little more than some MLMs require in monthly autoship, but it’s a one time outlay! The $29 to maintain the license of the Genies you give away is much less than most monthly “autoships”.
Don’t let the term “autoship” confuse you! Autoship at My Shopping Genie is the monthly license fee. You must set this up (credit card or direct bank debit) in order to qualify to earn the commissions you may be entitled to from the use of your distributed Genies, or the bonuses you can earn by sharing your opportunity with others.
The commission from one sale through your Genie might easily be greater than your monthly license fee! ClickBank products often offer sales commission of 40% to 50%, and can you imagine what the sales commission would be on one flat screen television? Don’t leave money on the table!
September 13th, 2009, is the deadline for current My Shopping Genie distributors to set up “autoship” in their online offices. It is simple to do. Use your bank debit card, an online bank check, or a credit card. Each month on the date you set it up, you will be billed. It’s just as easy to stop, but you then will not be eligible to earn commissions or bonuses. It definitely pays to be on autoship! The software uses this term (autoship), but we know there’s nothing to ship and nothing to store!
